Russia debuted as an independent nation in the Miss World 1992 contest, with Julia Kourotchkina, who won the crown that year; while the country made its Miss Universe debut in 1994 with Inna Zobova. Neither of these women were the official “Miss Russia” titleholders, a contest that started in 1992.
However there was no Miss Russia 1994, 2000 or 2008.
